Hi everybody!! We are Leanne, Niek, Roisin, Dana, and Nine! We are this year’s Almanak Committee! For those that don’t know, at the end of the year the Almanak gets handed out with a recap of everything that has happened in AEGEE-Groningen in the previous 12 months. We have already started the process of creating the Almanak, and have already bombarded the other committees and teams of AEGEE-Groningen with messages. That is why we think that it is a good time to introduce ourselves to you so that you can put some faces behind all these emails you will receive this year, haha. So, without further ado…
Hi! My name is Leanne, and I am the chair of the Almanak Committee. I recently turned 23 and since then I have fully embraced my Grandma Era™. You can find me on Sunday evenings watching Boer Zoekt Vrouw while crocheting or macrameing all kinds of stuff! But besides that, I still love a good party and cannot wait to see what trips I will be going on this year. First up is Egypt, which I have been looking forward to for so long! The main reason I am joining is my love for Het Huis Anubis, but it turns out I am also part of the Lustrum Committee! Oh, I am currently doing my masters in Media Creation and Innovation.
Hi, I’m Niek, the secretary. My job is to write minutes, this time without explicitly mentioning details about certain members. I am doing my best to comply with this, but I cannot guarantee positive results. Speaking of writing, currently I am busy with finalizing my master thesis, which some of you may have noticed. I have joined the almanak committee because last year I had written half of the society pages anyways. So I thought: “why not write the whole almanak when I’m at it?”
Hi, I am Dana, I am from Belgium, and I am the PR responsible of the Almanak Committee. I am studying International Teacher Education for Secondary Schools at NHL Stenden. I know it’s hard to believe that I will become a teacher since I have a passion for partying like there is no tomorrow. Another hobby of mine is going to the gym. With my goal being able to squat guys in the club (as my party trick haha).
Heyy, my name is Nine and I am the FR-responsible. I’m currently in my first year of Art History at the RUG. You can usually find me watching netflix, reading a book, crocheting or cooking/baking! My current favorite series is Girlmore Girls, i just started rewatching the series for the 4th or 5th time ???? Oh, and I also starting boxing here in Groningen. I used to kickbox when I still lived with my parents. Soo, yeah I am a quite active person with a lot of different hobbies haha!!
Hey, my name is Róisín and I am the Treasurer! I am from Ireland but have lived in the Netherlands for around 3 years now but mijn nederlands is niet goed :/. I have been studying Mechanical Engineering for a while and love to travel in between exam periods. With what little funds I have left after my travels, I like to practice photography, bake and listen to Noah Kahan for hours on end 🙂
