Hello and welcome to the start of a new year and a new Europecie: the committee for all things European. This year we will be organising events ranging from potlocks to pub quizzes on European traditions. And as the European elections approach, we’ll be hosting workshops and talks on EU history and political activism – we hope to see you there!
A word from our members, who come from as different parts of the world as Western and Central Europe:
Hello everyone! My name is Wendy Doddema and this is my first year with AEGEE-Groningen. This year I am the President of the Europecie of AEGEE-Groningen! I am a nursing student and will be starting my final placement in February this year. In my free time I like to dance urban, meet my friends and go to a lot of hardstyle festivals in the Netherlands. I’m very excited about the upcoming events and hope to see you all!
Hello everybody! My name is Lotta Vergragt and this year I am the PR responsible for the Europecie of AEGEE-Groningen! I study HRM and am currently in my third year. At the moment I am doing a minor in European Business. I hope that together with the other members of the Europecie we can organise a lot of interesting lectures and that you will all come and see them! Lots of love, Lotta
My name is Alina Stehle, I am 24 years old and I am doing my masters in journalism at the University of Groningen. I am the Secretary at the European Commission. In my free time I like to go to the gym, paint ceramics, meet friends for a chai latte, visit art museums, go hiking, scuba diving and in winter I love to ski. I am looking forward to some amazing activities this year 🙂
Hi, I am Jarno Jacob Duiker. I am 20 years old and I study Bioinformatics at Hanze University of Applied Sciences. I am the treasurer of the European Commission. In my spare time I like to go to the gym and do sports like padel tennis or running. I also like to read and play chess. I hope we can organise some fun and interesting events and I hope to see you soon!
Hello, my name is Bartosz Fibakiewicz, I am the general member of Europecie aka the guy who is known by a guy who knows a guy. You probably won’t find me without a hairbrush, which is fitting as I have hair like Newton and am studying physics at RUG; in my spare time I like reading about all sorts of things, solving puzzles and exercising.
Given the ‘stellar’ reputation that Europecie has gained over the last three years, we know that we have a high standard to uphold; we hope that this year could mark the start of a new era for the committee and that we will succeed in promoting a sense of shared European heritage.
