AEGEE (Association des États Généraux des Étudiants de l’Europe) is one of Europe’s biggest interdisciplinary student organizations. As a non-governmental, politically independent, and non-profit organization AEGEE is open to students and young people from all faculties and disciplines. Founded in 1985 in Paris, today AEGEE has grown to a Network of 13000 friends, present in 200 cities in 40 countries all over Europe.
AEGEE strives for a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe, which is socially, economically and politically integrated, and values the participation of young people in its construction and development. In order to achieve this mission, AEGEE-Europe uses four main Focus Areas: Climate Emergency, Political Activism, Mental Health, Social Equity.
Twice a year, AEGEE organizes an Agora. This is a General Members Meeting for all members of AEGEE-Europe. New plans and proposals are discussed here, and the Comité Directeur (board of AEGEE-Groningen) is elected. The European Planning Meeting decides on the Action Agenda. This includes all the plans and goals of AEGEE for the coming year.
AEGEE-Europe has European committees and Working Groups in which you can become an active member. You can find more information on this on the website www.aegee.org.
