You may be wondering who these people in AAC are actually, what do they study, what kind of memories they have of their own board year! Keep on reading to find out more about Neepan, Annelies, Kirsten and Aleksandra.

Hallo everyone! I am Neepan and I am 26 years young. I study medicine and am in my fourth year. I was the European Affairs Director and the Vice-President in the 30th board of AEGEE-Groningen. I have very fond memories of my board year also because it was during that year that the spark that lit the flame of my board game addiction was born. Two games contributed to it! Exploding kittens and Ligretto. Exploding Kittens is a game which my boardies and myself played quite often, during our breaks, during train trips, during dinner etc. Ligretto is a game which was introduced to me by the Secretary and FR Responsible of the 31st board of AEGEE-Groningen during our Exchange to Poznan in December 2017 when our flight was delayed more that 4 hours. These are very small-scale fond memories of my board year I will always carry with me as well as our trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg.  A board year is an extremely educational, constructive and above all, an enjoyable and fun experience during which you will develop skills which can be used for the rest of your life. ⚡

Hi there! My name is Annelies, and I have travelled 25 years around the sun already. Currently, I am in my last year of the Master in Science, Communication & Society at the University of Leiden. In the year of 2018-2019, I was the President and Local Affairs Director of the 31st board of AEGEE-Groningen. While looking back, I must say that one of my fondest board memories was Agora Bucharest for sure. It was my first Agora ever. I’ve heard people talk about the feeling of solidarity you have during European events (even the online ones!), and those people were not lying. I learned so much from other AEGEEans, and I have made friends for life. Besides making friends for life, a board year at AEGEE-Groningen enables you to really develop yourself to levels you cannot imagine. After my life as a boardie, I became more sure of myself, and I was ready to take on the world ✨

Hi everyone! I hope by now you all know who I am, but in case you don’t, let me shortly introduce myself: My name is Kirsten, I am 22 years old and in my Bachelors of International Relations and International Organisation. Currently, I am the President & FR-Responsible of the 33rd board of AEGEE-Groningen. Already half of my board year has passed and so much has happened in the past (slightly strange) months, and I have gathered many fond memories in the mean time. One of my favourite moments of this adventure, was a European Night we organised with the board. All of us brought drinks and made food of previously decided countries and for a full afternoon and evening we enjoyed this while bonding and getting to know each other better. This night still brings a smile on everyone’s face, and some faint memories or stories return once in a while. In addition to making great memories with your fellow boardies, a board year has many educational opportunities and is great for self-development. During this year, I learned a lot about planning, problem-solving and adapting to the situation. Doing a board year is a fun way to gain working experience and work in an international context 🐣

Hey everyone! My name is Aleksandra, I’m 19 years old and I study European Languages & Cultures. I am part of the XXXIII board as the European Affairs Director. Throughout this year many memorable moments with my fellow boardies happened. I enjoyed our oliebollen lunches, meeting up for the online European events, or dyeing our hair crazy colors for the Christmas card. During the board year you also have a lot of fun by giving (or receiving) anytimers – a small beer to chug for all your great work 😉. A board year is filled with a lot of little and wholesome moments that you’ll remember and laugh about long after your board year ends. It’s an amazing learning opportunity, which comes with an enormous amount of fun 🥳.

These are the four amazing people in the AAC. They are excited to help you out in the process of becoming the XXXIV board. If you wish to have your first conversation, with no obligations then send an email to aac.aegeegroningen@gmail.com
